Asante Africa Foundation, a nonprofit dedicated to educating and empowering East African youth, is seeking a Digital Transformation Project Manager to lead and implement education technology solutions that enhance learning experiences for children and young people. This role is pivotal in designing and delivering digital and in-person curricula, ensuring the effective integration of technology within the organization’s education programs across Tanzania, Kenya, and Uganda.

Role Summary

The Education Digital Transformation Project Manager will lead strategic initiatives to enhance educational content through digital platforms, ensuring alignment with the organization’s long-term goals. The selected candidate will develop training resources, guide curriculum implementation, and oversee digital transformation projects that drive impactful learning experiences.

This position requires a strong background in change management, instructional technology, and education strategy. The successful candidate will work closely with senior leadership, including the Global CEO, Director of Programs, and country teams, to ensure the seamless execution of digital learning programs.

Note: Only East African citizens are eligible to apply. The position may be based in any of the foundation’s offices in Tanzania, Kenya, or Uganda.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and execution of digital education solutions for youth development programs.

  • Provide professional learning support for internal staff, educators, and alumni, enhancing curriculum implementation.

  • Develop and execute a five-year digital education strategy in collaboration with country managers.

  • Maintain a learner-centric approach, using data-driven insights to enhance engagement and learning outcomes.

  • Manage educational technology projects integrating custom and open-source content across different learning levels.

  • Support fundraising initiatives by working closely with the Strategic Partnerships team and external stakeholders.

  • Establish and implement a master training program, equipping facilitators with necessary digital tools and methodologies.

  • Drive the adoption of digital transformation solutions, optimizing operational efficiency and learning impact.

  • Provide insights through quantitative and qualitative analysis, presenting actionable recommendations to senior leadership.

  • Serve as a mentor and coach for junior staff, alumni, and volunteers, fostering a collaborative learning environment.

  • Build strong partnerships with education, government, and corporate stakeholders to advance funding and mentorship opportunities.

  • Stay updated on emerging trends in digital education technology, ensuring the foundation remains at the forefront of innovation.


Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in instructional technology, education, social sciences, or a related field.

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in curriculum development, instructional design, and digital education tools.

  • Demonstrated expertise in developing and delivering digital learning programs for rural and marginalized communities.

  • At least 1-2 years of experience working in educational programs within East African rural settings.

  • Strong understanding of youth education, digital pedagogy, and technological integration.

  • Proven leadership ability with experience coaching and mentoring teams.

  • Strong analytical skills with a track record of conducting qualitative and quantitative research to drive strategic decisions.

  • Excellent communication skills in English and Swahili (both verbal and written).

  • Ability to work effectively in an agile, high-performance environment, meeting deadlines with precision.

  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally, as needed.
