Tanzania FA Shuts Down Three Stadiums Over Infrastructure Concerns
Dar es Salaam, March 10, 2025 – The Tanzania Football Federation (TFF) has suspended the use of three stadiums—Jamhuri in Dodoma, CCM Kirumba in Mwanza, and Liti in Singida—citing their failure to meet the required infrastructure standards.
In an official statement released today by TFF’s Head of Communications, Cliford Mario Ndimbo, the federation outlined that these venues do not comply with the licensing regulations established for clubs participating in the country’s top-tier league.
“The Tanzania Football Federation (TFF) has banned Jamhuri Stadium (Dodoma), CCM Kirumba Stadium (Mwanza), and Liti Stadium (Singida) from hosting league matches due to their failure to meet regulatory and legal requirements,” the statement read.
According to the federation, the condition of these stadiums does not align with the standards outlined in the Club Licensing Regulations. As a result, teams that previously used these grounds for home matches must now seek alternative venues that adhere to the set guidelines until the necessary renovations are completed and approved by TFF inspectors.
The announcement comes just days after TFF also shut down Ali Hassan Mwinyi Stadium in Tabora due to unsatisfactory pitch conditions.
TFF has urged all clubs to prioritize the maintenance and upgrading of stadium infrastructure to ensure that football matches are played in safe and high-standard environments that comply with both national and international regulations.
