Simba SC to Face Dodoma Jiji Without Key Players Camara and Che Malone
Dar es Salaam, March 13, 2025 – Simba SC will take on Dodoma Jiji tomorrow in a crucial Tanzania Premier League encounter, but the team will be missing two of its key players—goalkeeper Moussa Camara and defender Che Fondoh Malone—due to injuries.
The match, set to take place at the KMC Complex Stadium in Dar es Salaam, will see Camara and Malone absent due to injuries sustained on February 24, 2025, during a 2-2 draw against Azam FC.
With Camara still recovering, Ally Salim will continue to start in goal, just as he did in Simba’s last two matches against Coastal Union (Premier League) and TMA Stars (FA Cup). Meanwhile, Chamou Karaboue is expected to fill in for Che Malone in defense.
Coach Matola Confirms Absences and Readiness
Speaking ahead of the fixture, Simba’s assistant coach Seleman Matola acknowledged that Camara and Malone remain sidelined but assured fans that the rest of the squad is fit and ready.
"For tomorrow’s match, we will still be without Camara and Che Malone due to injuries. However, Camara has resumed light training, and we expect him to return for upcoming games," Matola stated.
On preparations for the match against Dodoma Jiji, Matola emphasized the tough challenge ahead, particularly considering that the league has entered its second round.
"Dodoma Jiji is a strong side, and we are prepared for a competitive match. Their coach, Mecky Maxime, values competition, and the first-leg match was not an easy one. We know this game will be tough, but we have prepared well to secure a good result," he added.
Simba’s Dominance Over Dodoma Jiji
Currently, Simba SC sits second in the Premier League standings with 54 points, trailing leaders Yanga SC by four points. Dodoma Jiji, positioned eighth in the table, will be aiming for an upset.
Their last meeting at the Jamhuri Stadium in Dodoma saw Simba claim a 1-0 victory, courtesy of a penalty goal from Jean Charles Ahoua in the 63rd minute.
Historically, Simba has dominated all nine league encounters against Dodoma Jiji since their first meeting in the 2021-2022 season. The statistics reveal a daunting challenge for Dodoma Jiji:
- Simba has won all nine matches against Dodoma Jiji.
- Dodoma Jiji has failed to score in the last seven games against Simba.
- Dodoma Jiji has managed only two goals in their first two encounters (2021-2022), where they lost 1-2 at home and 3-1 away.

Dodoma Jiji Determined to Break the Losing Streak
Despite the odds, Dodoma Jiji remains hopeful of securing a breakthrough victory. With only eight matches left in the season, they are keen to collect crucial points to improve their standing.
Defender Abdi Banda, a former Simba player, assured Dodoma fans that the team will give their best effort.
"We promise nothing but a strong fight. Every team wants three points, but for us, this match is critical because of the tight competition in the league table," said Banda.
Dodoma Jiji’s head coach Mecky Maxime also acknowledged the challenge but remains confident in his squad’s ability to compete.
"This league is tough. Simba is fighting for the championship, and we are aiming for a strong finish. This makes the match even more intense," said Maxime.
As Simba aims to maintain pressure on league leaders Yanga, Dodoma Jiji will be eager to rewrite history and finally secure a victory against their dominant rivals.
