Zanzibar President Urges Muslims to Maximize Ramadhan’s Blessings
Zanzibar, March 4, 2025 — In a call to action for Muslims, President of Zanzibar, Alhaj Dr. Hussein Ali Mwinyi, urged the faithful to make the most of the Holy Month of Ramadhan by engaging in actions that embody Islamic values and principles. Speaking at a Qur’an Memorization Competition at Masjid Rahman in Mfenesini, Unguja, Dr. Mwinyi addressed the gathering of Muslim worshippers, emphasizing the significance of this month for both spiritual and communal growth.
During his remarks, Dr. Mwinyi highlighted the importance of Qur’an memorization among the youth. He described it as a vital undertaking that helps nurture future religious leaders, including Sheikhs, Imams, and scholars. He further noted that sustaining such efforts requires collective support from the Muslim community to ensure their ongoing success.
Additionally, President Mwinyi encouraged current donors to increase their contributions toward supporting Qur’an memorization programs and invited new benefactors to join in the cause.
