Tanzania Meteorological Authority Warns of Cyclone Jude in the Indian Ocean
DAR ES SALAAM, March 10, 2025 – The Tanzania Meteorological Authority (TMA) has issued an advisory regarding the presence of Cyclone "Jude" in the Indian Ocean, specifically near the Mozambique Channel.
According to the latest meteorological analysis, Cyclone Jude is expected to make landfall in Mozambique today, where it will initially weaken upon reaching the mainland. However, forecasts indicate that the cyclone will likely move back over the ocean, regaining strength between March 13 and 15, 2025.
While the cyclone is not expected to have a direct impact on Tanzania, its presence in the Mozambique Channel could influence local weather patterns. The TMA has noted that increased rainfall is anticipated in various regions of the country due to the system's effects on atmospheric conditions.
Authorities continue to monitor the situation and urge the public to stay informed through official weather updates.
