Position Overview:

FEMA Mining and Drilling Limited is seeking an experienced Project Superintendent for its Buckreef Site Project, working on a 6 weeks on, 2 weeks off roster from Katoro, Geita, Mwanza. The Project Superintendent will report directly to the Operations of Site Services, with accountability for the safe and efficient delivery of contract site services. This includes overseeing operations such as drill and blast, load and haul, crusher feed, haul road maintenance, site civil works, and overall project management.

The role ensures that site operations align with FEMA’s company processes, cost management strategies, and fleet maximization targets.

Key Responsibilities:

• Team Leadership & Performance Management: Guide, mentor, and develop operational leaders, ensuring that team performance aligns with business goals.

• Operational Coordination: Plan and allocate resources to meet safety, production, and cost objectives. Provide technical guidance to ensure daily operations align with FEMA’s safety and efficiency standards.

• Training & Development: Foster a culture of continuous learning, overseeing workforce training programs and ensuring compliance with industry standards.

• Health, Safety, Environment, Quality & Compliance: Promote adherence to safety, health, environmental, and quality standards, while maintaining a proactive safety culture.

• Stakeholder Engagement: Cultivate open communication with clients and internal teams to understand their needs and ensure alignment in execution.

• Financial & Contractual Awareness: Oversee cost control, operational budgets, and contractual obligations, ensuring the efficient and value-driven delivery of services.

• Drive Continuous Improvement: Lead initiatives for business improvements, managing change effectively to ensure sustainable progress.

Candidate Requirements:

To succeed in this role, the ideal candidate will have:

• A minimum of 10 years’ production supervisory experience in an open-pit mining environment.
• Proven expertise in managing and administering mining projects.
• Strong skills in commercial management, planning, and cost control.
• A commitment to adhering to FEMA's safety, health, and environmental policies.
• The ability to foster strong stakeholder relationships.
• Demonstrated experience in contract mining and performance management.
• The capacity to track performance, meet targets, and take corrective actions when necessary.
• Proven experience in delivering accurate and timely progress reports.
