World Renew Tanzania Seeks Intern-Program Officer for Community Development Initiatives

Mwanza, Tanzania – March 26, 2025:
World Renew, an international relief and development organization affiliated with the Christian Reformed Church in North America (CRCNA), is inviting applications for the position of Intern-Program Officer. This full-time, fixed-term role offers an exceptional opportunity for individuals passionate about sustainable development and humanitarian work.

Position Overview

About World Renew Tanzania
Registered under Tanzania’s Non-Governmental Organizational Act No. 24 of 2002 (Registration No. I-NGO/R2/000640), World Renew collaborates with local partners and government authorities across Mwanza, Geita, Shinyanga, Tabora, and Mara regions. The organization implements wide-ranging community development and disaster response programs targeting areas such as food security, conservation agriculture, disaster risk reduction, environmental protection, youth empowerment, livelihoods, health, and literacy.

Role Purpose
The Intern-Program Officer will support the implementation and monitoring of community-based development projects. Working in close coordination with the Programs Coordinator, Monitoring and Evaluation Manager, and project teams, the successful candidate will be involved in project planning, reporting, and coordination with implementing partners. This role is central to the efficient delivery of World Renew’s development objectives.

Key Responsibilities and Requirements:

  • Strong leadership, analytical, and communication skills

  • Proven organizational abilities and decision-making competence

  • Ability to engage effectively with stakeholders at various levels

  • Flexibility, resilience, and ability to work independently or in teams

  • Familiarity with community development methodologies such as PRA, PLA, and AI

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; knowledge of QuickBooks is advantageous

  • Solid administrative and report-writing capabilities

Qualifications:

  • A degree in Community Economic Development, Project Planning and Management, Business Administration, Cooperatives Management, or related rural development fields

  • Minimum of three years of experience in community development in areas such as microfinance, agricultural economics, literacy, or community health

Language Proficiency:

  • Fluent in both written and spoken English and Kiswahili

Travel Requirements:

  • Willingness to travel up to 10–15% of the time to rural areas including Geita, Mara, Shinyanga, Tabora, Kagera, and Kigoma. Conditions may include limited access to basic services like electricity and running water.
