CAS Receives Yanga SC Appeal, Gives TFF, TPLB, and Simba 10 Days to Respond
The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) has formally acknowledged an appeal lodged by Tanzania's Young Africans Sports Club (Yanga SC) against the Tanzania Football Federation (TFF), the Tanzania Premier League Board (TPLB), and Simba SC. The appeal stems from TPLB’s decision to postpone the highly anticipated Kariakoo Derby, which was originally scheduled for March 8, 2025.
In an official communication from CAS, the three respondents—TFF, TPLB, and Simba SC—have been granted a 10-day window from the date of receipt of the notification to prepare and submit their defenses.
The case, filed under the reference number CAS 2025/A/11298, is set to be handled on an expedited basis. All involved parties are expected to present their evidence and arguments within the stipulated timeframe.
