TCRA urges innovators to use NaPA to enhance digital services across Tanzania.

Dodoma: The Role of NaPA in Unlocking Digital Innovation for Tanzania’s Growth
The Tanzania Communications Regulatory Authority (TCRA) is urging local innovators to seize the opportunities presented by the newly established house addressing system (NaPA). This system is designed to enhance digital service delivery and reach all Tanzanians, regardless of their location.
During the inauguration of the NaPA system exhibition in Dodoma on Thursday, February 6, 2025, Dr. Nkundwe Mwasaga, the Director-General of TCRA, emphasized the importance of harnessing NaPA for digital innovation. According to Dr. Mwasaga, the platform opens doors for tech developers to create cutting-edge solutions that will revolutionize service delivery across the country.
The house addressing system, he explained, serves as an essential identification tool, simplifying the delivery and reception of services that are key to driving both economic and social development.
Dr. Mwasaga highlighted that the industrial revolutions 4.5 and 6 heavily depend on technology, making the role of TCRA crucial in educating Tanzanians. The ultimate goal is to ensure the widespread benefits of these systems across the nation.
“It is incredibly important for us, as a Commission, and for the nation, to reach both urban and rural Tanzanians. Educating them about the significance of digital addresses is key to building a digital economy,” he added.
The event was officially opened by the Minister of Communications and Information Technology, Jerry Silaa, under the theme: "Know and Use Your Address to Simplify Service Delivery."
Several ministries are involved in the ongoing celebrations, including the Ministry of State in the President's Office for Regional Administration and Local Government (TAMISEMI) and the Ministry of Lands, Housing, and Human Settlements Development.
Various public and private institutions, including the Postal Corporation, NIDA, UCSAF, TTCL, TCRA, TCRA CCC, NEMC, the Commission for Personal Data, "YAS", NMB, and TANAPA, are providing educational services to the public on the various services facilitated by the house addressing system.
