Liverpool remains interested in signing Levi Colwill, but a transfer may not happen until 2026 due to Chelsea's stance.

Maresca Faces Transfer Threat as Liverpool Eye Chelsea’s 'Untouchable' Colwill
Liverpool are reportedly eyeing Chelsea defender Levi Colwill, although a transfer deal in the upcoming summer window is unlikely, according to sources. Colwill, 22, has been on Liverpool’s radar for several years, and fresh interest has emerged from manager Arne Slot’s side. The Reds are keen on acquiring a versatile defender capable of playing both as a centre-back and left-back.
While Liverpool’s veteran Andrew Robertson continues to deliver strong performances, the club is already planning for a long-term replacement, and Colwill is said to be one of the top candidates for the job. However, sources suggest that Chelsea is unlikely to entertain any offers for the English international this summer. The player, who was recently named one of Enzo Maresca's "untouchables" at Stamford Bridge, is expected to remain a key fixture at Chelsea.
Colwill has over four years left on his current Chelsea contract, and his Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) has reached a career-high €55.4 million. As a result, Liverpool may hold off on making a move until 2026 when the situation could change.
Beyond Colwill, Liverpool is also monitoring other potential options in both centre-back and left-back positions. Names such as Milos Kerkez, Antonee Robinson, Dean Huijsen, and Marc Guehi have all come under consideration as the club searches for reinforcements, though Chelsea too has been linked with some of these targets, setting the stage for stiff competition.
In the meantime, Liverpool’s transfer focus may shift towards the signing of a forward in the 2025 summer window, especially with plans to offload Darwin Nunez to Saudi Arabia. Recent reports have linked Liverpool with a move for Newcastle United’s Alexander Isak, although the striker might be inclined to extend his stay at St James' Park.
