This was announced by TFF Communications Officer, Cliford Ndimbo, following an invitation from the Arusha Regional Commissioner’s Office.
Ndimbo described the upcoming tournament as a pivotal event that will shine a spotlight on the exceptional talent within Tanzanian women’s football. The competition, which will feature the top four teams from the 2024/2025 Tanzania Women’s Premier League (TWPL), is set to showcase the high level of competition within the women’s game. The teams include the reigning champions and some of the most dominant forces in the league.
“This inaugural competition will bring together the top four teams from the 2024/2025 Tanzania Women’s Premier League: Fountain Gate Princess, JKT Queens, Simba Queens, and Yanga Princess. These teams have consistently excelled in the league and will now compete for supremacy in Arusha,” Ndimbo said.
The tournament will officially kick off on March 4, 2025, at the Sheikh Amri Abeid Stadium, with the winners advancing to the grand finale. In addition, the third-place playoff and final match will be held on March 6 at the same venue.
“All participating teams are expected to arrive in Arusha on Sunday, March 2, 2025, to allow sufficient time for preparations and acclimatization ahead of the competition,” Ndimbo added.
