Salah Urged to Stay at Liverpool Amid Saudi Arabia Offers

Thursday, March 6, 2025

Mohamed Salah, the 32-year-old superstar of Liverpool, has been advised not to be swayed by offers from Saudi Arabian clubs. Instead, he is encouraged to stay at Anfield to solidify his legacy, even if it means winning more Premier League and UEFA Champions League titles this season.

This could be Salah's final season at Liverpool, as his current contract is nearing its expiration, and discussions regarding a new deal have not yielded significant progress.

Liverpool faces tough decisions in the coming months, with two other key players—Trent Alexander-Arnold and Virgil van Dijk—also having contracts that are set to expire.

Coach Diaa El-Sayed, who mentored Salah during Egypt’s U-20 team in 2011 and famously converted him from a left-back to a prolific forward, expressed a desire for Salah to finish his career with Liverpool. He stated that in Egypt, the fans' love for the club largely stems from Salah's presence and success there.

"Since Salah was a young player, I’ve known his heart and character. He’s had seven outstanding years at Liverpool, and his stats speak for themselves. His time with the team is exceptional, as is his rapport with his teammates, coaches, journalists, and supporters. We, in Egypt, want him to stay at Liverpool. We don’t want to hear about him going to Saudi Arabia, PSG, or any other club. For his sake, we are all following Liverpool closely," El-Sayed said.

Salah is currently the Premier League's top scorer this season, having netted 25 goals in 28 matches. This remarkable form has also propelled him to third on Liverpool's all-time top scorer list, with 131 goals in 241 appearances.
