They always stay focused and wait for the moment.’ And I took that into consideration. If you stay focused, maybe you will have one chance.”

This advice seems particularly fitting as Salah’s performances this season are beginning to rival the legendary Thierry Henry's iconic 2002/03 campaign, which was guided by Wenger during his tenure at Arsenal.

“I just want them to remember that I was here for eight years and I gave everything,” Salah said. “I want the fans to remember that I gave everything for them, everything for this city. I loved football, I gave everything for it, and I wasn’t lazy. I think that’s what it’s about; they give you love, you have a connection with the fans because you give everything.”
