Digital Document Storage: Government and Private Sector Urged to Adopt
Dar es Salaam, February 22, 2025 — The government and private sector companies in Tanzania are being urged to transition from paper-based document management to digital systems. This shift, they say, will streamline operations and eliminate the inefficiencies caused by paper records.
Paul Mahito, Director-General of Top Achieve Institute, made the call during a training session for business leaders, technology experts, and industry stakeholders. The training, which took place today, aims to introduce technological solutions that will improve business performance and simplify workflow across various sectors.
Mahito emphasized that by digitizing their records, companies could cut costs and enhance their operational efficiency. "Digital storage offers businesses a safer, more efficient system with advanced technology," he explained. "Our goal, in partnership with Itiner, is to drive digital transformation in Tanzania and beyond, providing businesses with a seamless, secure, and sustainable way to manage their documents."
Bela Toth, Managing Director of Itiner Institute, added that the risks associated with paper records—such as loss or damage—can be avoided with a digital system, which also provides real-time data verification and audit trails for enhanced security.
“This digital tool will help businesses better connect with their clients, expand their operations, and contribute to the overall economic growth,” Toth said.
The event marked the launch of a new digital platform aimed at transforming how businesses handle and manage their documents. With advanced features and a focus on security and efficiency, the platform promises to improve the way organizations store, track, and manage their records.
"The launch is a significant step in our mission to bring about digital change in Tanzania and across the globe," said Anna Chinyoyo, Marketing Head at Simba Money Ltd. "Working together with Itiner, we are introducing a solution that will empower businesses to manage their documents in an easy, secure, and sustainable way."
The event featured live demonstrations, insightful discussions on the future of document management, and opportunities to collaborate with industry leaders. Attendees experienced firsthand the platform's capabilities, including its top-tier security features, cloud integration, and AI-driven automation.
