March 22, 2025 – Njombe, Tanzania
Prime Minister Kassim Majaliwa has called upon students across Tanzania to show compassion, love, and support for their peers with special needs, emphasizing that inclusive care is crucial in helping every student achieve their dreams.
Speaking during a visit to Njombe Girls Secondary School in Wanging’ombe District, Majaliwa underscored the government’s commitment to inclusive education through the development of accessible infrastructure. He noted that such efforts have allowed students with special needs to thrive academically and integrate into mainstream schools.
“I am touched by the way you care for and love your fellow students with special needs. I urge you to continue showing that love and support so they too can fulfill their dreams,” the Prime Minister said.
During his inspection tour on March 22, Majaliwa expressed satisfaction with the school's overall environment, particularly praising the integration of advanced Information and Communication Technology (ICT) systems. He encouraged students to safeguard the infrastructure and use it effectively in their learning journey.
“I am impressed by the ICT infrastructure at this school. I urge all students to take care of it to ensure it contributes meaningfully to your academic success,” he emphasized.
Highlighting the progress under President Samia Suluhu Hassan’s leadership, Majaliwa said the sixth-phase government has made substantial investments in girls' education, constructing modern and well-equipped secondary schools across all regions of the country.
“Her Excellency President Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan has made a significant investment in the education sector, and we are now witnessing the positive outcomes of that vision,” Majaliwa added.
Deputy Minister in the President’s Office – Regional Administration and Local Government (OR-TAMISEMI), and Member of Parliament for Wanging’ombe, Festo Dugange, also expressed gratitude to President Samia for her support in establishing the school. He highlighted additional ongoing development projects in the region, including health centers, water services, and road infrastructure.
The Njombe Girls Secondary School, which cost over TZS 4 billion to construct, features 22 classrooms, 9 dormitories, a dining hall and kitchen, and other key facilities. Currently, the school has enrolled 460 students across various academic streams.
