Kigoma, Tanzania – The Kibondo District Council in the Kigoma Region has revealed how the government’s investment of 46.4 billion Tanzanian shillings has catalyzed a transformative shift in the local economy. This funding has supported a wide range of critical social projects, resulting in tangible improvements to the district’s infrastructure and a significant rise in local government revenue.
The announcement was made by Kibondo District Commissioner, Colonel Agrey Magwaza, who shared the details during a presentation to the Kigoma Regional Political Committee. The committee was on a visit to the district to assess the progress of ongoing development initiatives.
Magwaza explained that this financial boost is part of the broader 11.5 trillion Tanzanian shillings allocated by the government for large-scale projects across the Kigoma Region. He further emphasized that the funds have not only revitalized Kibondo’s economy but have also reinforced several key economic programs designed to stimulate growth and long-term prosperity.
During the committee’s visit, Kibondo District Council Executive Director, Diocles Rutemwa, underscored the impact of these investments on local revenue generation. Rutemwa explained that the infusion of funds has enabled the successful execution of numerous projects, directly contributing to an uplift in the district’s financial standing.
This funding is expected to continue driving significant economic advancement, fostering sustainable development within the region for years to come.
