Kilombero Sugar Company Limited (KSCL), the leading sugar producer in Tanzania, is currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Farm Supervisor to join its team. Based in Morogoro, this role is central to overseeing the company’s agricultural operations, ensuring the delivery of high-quality sugarcane and contributing to the sustainable growth of KSCL’s farming initiatives.

Role Objective

The Farm Supervisor will be responsible for supervising and coordinating daily farming activities, aligning them with the company’s long-term agricultural plans. The successful candidate will play a key role in implementing risk management strategies, driving continuous improvement, mentoring staff, and ensuring that all operations are executed in compliance with the set standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee all farm activities associated with cane production, ensuring timely execution and adherence to quality benchmarks.

• Implement and manage farm resource and operational plans in line with organizational goals.

• Conduct regular inspections and evaluations of farming operations, submitting detailed activity reports to management.

• Ensure proper utilization of agricultural inputs and materials.

• Promote discipline within the farm team and promptly report any operational or safety risks.

• Maintain accurate daily records of farming activities for integration into the Cane Pro system.

• Assist management in aligning labor requirements with the overall farm plan.

• Apply and promote continuous improvement techniques to elevate sugarcane quality and operational efficiency.

• Develop team capabilities through direct coaching, mentoring, and on-the-job training.

• Monitor and supervise third-party service providers to ensure compliance with farm standards.

Qualifications and Experience

• A valid Certificate in Agriculture or SASRI Senior Sugar Cane Certificate (or equivalent).

• A minimum of three (3) years of experience in sugarcane agriculture.

• Proven experience in team leadership and resource planning.

• Strong knowledge of basic computer applications; proficiency in MS Office is essential.

• Effective leadership and communication skills.

Terms of Employment

The successful applicant will be offered a permanent contract.
