Trump to Discuss Land and Power Plants with Putin Amid Peace Efforts
While aboard Air Force One on Sunday evening, U.S. President Donald Trump announced that he plans to hold discussions with Russian President Vladimir Putin on Tuesday.
Addressing reporters, Trump stated that significant progress had been made over the weekend and hinted at a potential announcement following the talks.
This development comes just a week after U.S. and Ukrainian delegates met in Saudi Arabia, where they proposed a 30-day ceasefire as an initial step toward ending the ongoing conflict. However, the United States continues to seek Russia’s agreement on the matter.
Outlining the key discussion points for his conversation with Putin, Trump emphasized:
"I believe we will be talking about land. As you know, the situation is very different now compared to before the war. We will also discuss power plants—this is a major issue."
He added that both Ukraine and Russia have already engaged in extensive discussions on various matters, including the division of assets.
"We want to see if we can bring an end to this war. Maybe we can, maybe we can’t, but I think we have a very good chance," Trump remarked.
