BBC Media Action, the BBC’s international development charity, is inviting applications for the position of Country Director to lead its operations in Tanzania. This prestigious and impactful role will place the successful candidate at the forefront of using media as a catalyst for positive social change across a wide range of thematic areas including governance, gender equality, youth engagement, media development, climate change, and nutrition.

Role Overview:

As Country Director, the selected candidate will oversee the effective functioning of BBC Media Action’s country office in Tanzania. The role encompasses strategic and operational leadership, ensuring excellence in the planning and implementation of development-focused media projects. The Country Director will be tasked with maintaining high standards of programme delivery while ensuring adherence to financial, administrative, and compliance frameworks in line with BBC Media Action policies, donor requirements, and local regulations.

This position offers a unique opportunity to lead innovative media initiatives that empower communities and support development goals through storytelling, capacity building, and strategic communication.
