Role Overview

As an Assistant Accountant, you will play a critical role in supporting the finance team with daily accounting operations, financial reporting, and compliance. This position offers a dynamic environment ideal for professionals looking to contribute to complex engineering and construction projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of accurate financial statements, reports, and month-end closing activities

• Manage invoices, payments, and execute timely bank reconciliations

• Support the reconciliation of general ledger accounts

• Contribute to budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis processes

• Ensure adherence to internal accounting policies and external regulatory standards

• Coordinate with external auditors and stakeholders during audit processes

• Guide junior team members in day-to-day financial operations

• Perform additional duties as delegated by the Finance Supervisor

Candidate Profile

Educational Qualification:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance

Experience:

• Minimum of 3 years in a relevant accounting role

• Experience in construction or project-based accounting is highly desirable

Professional Certification:

• CPA qualification is considered an added advantage

Technical Skills:

• In-depth understanding of Tanzanian tax laws and familiarity with TRA regulations

• Proficient in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or SAP

• Exceptional attention to detail and strong analytical capabilities
