Position Overview: Technical Specialist – Infrastructure & Service Management

In this role, you will report to the Country ISM Lead and play a pivotal part in overseeing the local IT Infrastructure and Service Management (ISM) function. Your primary responsibility is to ensure cost-effective and professional delivery of IT infrastructure services across operations, projects, and clients.

You will act as a key liaison between global and regional IT strategies and their implementation on the ground, tailoring solutions to meet local business demands while upholding DHL’s global standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the Country ISM Lead in achieving performance targets across quality, budget, and timeline.

• Assist in implementing medium-to-long-term ISM strategies in alignment with regional directives.

• Ensure internal customer alignment and communicate strategic ISM benefits.

• Support onboarding and ongoing service delivery for new and existing clients.

• Deliver IT infrastructure and service management in line with SLAs for both cost and quality.

• Implement information security and risk-related policies, standards, and processes locally.

• Ensure compliance with corporate guidelines, including software licenses and hardware asset registers.

• Collaborate with local suppliers to meet service level expectations and feed insights into supplier management.

• Maintain updated documentation for IT services, including SOPs, project plans, network diagrams, and ticketing systems.

• Provide project-based implementation services and support.

Qualifications & Experience

• Matric certificate and Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.

• Strong knowledge of ISM principles; ITIL certification preferred.

• Minimum 2 years’ experience in logistics, supply chain, or fast-paced sectors.

• Prior experience (minimum 2 years) in ISM technical specialist roles.

• Exposure to IT infrastructure components such as networks, telecoms, desktops, and hosting.

• Familiarity with core logistics applications like WMS, TMS, and integration tools.

• Basic understanding of DHL’s organizational structure is advantageous.

• Project management experience is a plus.
