Role Summary

Smollan Tanzania is seeking a dynamic and experienced GA Operations Project Manager to oversee and enhance the organization’s operational and sales efficiency. The role involves spearheading operational excellence initiatives, driving project execution, aligning account management strategies, and ensuring rigorous administrative and financial controls.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Excellence

  • Design, implement, and maintain sales operations policies and standard operating procedures (SOPs).

  • Maintain a comprehensive and up-to-date customer database.

  • Process project data accurately and disseminate it to the field force.

  • Conduct quality checks and ensure data integrity, taking corrective actions when necessary.

  • Generate, analyze, and share sales operational reports with key stakeholders.

  • Collaborate with field managers to define project deliverables, scope, and timelines.

Project Management

  • Contribute to business planning and create strategies to ensure smooth project implementation.

  • Determine required resources using the most cost-effective and efficient methods.

  • Benchmark internal processes against industry best practices to ensure continuous improvement.

  • Develop and execute project plans to achieve defined objectives.

  • Oversee field staff performance, ensuring high-quality output and initiating corrective measures as needed.

  • Report regularly to the Business Unit Manager and Country Manager.

  • Manage and implement sales projects when assigned.

Account Management Alignment

  • Manage multiple client accounts in line with the regional or cluster client structure.

  • Ensure field teams submit trade visit reports to clients and cluster executives consistently.

  • Exhibit strategic foresight to support client retention and future development.

  • Enforce rigorous sales target monitoring and follow-ups.

  • Address client queries and concerns promptly and effectively.

  • Keep up-to-date with market trends and competitor activity.

  • Uphold performance standards for both clients and internal teams.

Administrative Oversight

  • Establish streamlined administrative systems for efficiency.

  • Submit accurate reports to both management and clients.

  • Track and manage expenses while safeguarding Smollan’s assets, including HHT devices.

  • Ensure full regulatory compliance between field teams and distributors.

  • Submit payroll and incentive-related information in a timely manner.

  • Coordinate with the People Department on employee queries and payroll matters.

  • Maintain up-to-date records of performance documentation and scorecards.

  • Monitor operational budgets and project-specific financial planning, including salaries and travel expenses.

Sales & Distribution Objectives

  • Participate in strategic business planning for sales implementation.

  • Identify necessary resources to achieve sales goals efficiently.

  • Continuously refine sales strategies and performance benchmarks.

  • Develop and execute market distribution plans and retail programs.

  • Break down and communicate weekly and monthly sales targets.

  • Drive volume growth through demand generation initiatives.

  • Monitor field team performance and uphold quality standards.

Budget Management

  • Manage and control operating expenses, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.

  • Supervise project-specific budget allocations and financial accountability.

Candidate Profile

  • Experience: 4–5 years in a similar role.

  • Education: Degree in Sales and Marketing.

  • Professional Background: Proven experience in sales, marketing, project management, and team/client engagement at a managerial level.

Required Competencies

  • Strong computer proficiency, especially in MS Office.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication.

  • Strategic business thinking and leadership capabilities.

  • Solid problem-solving and time management skills.

  • Resilience under pressure.

  • In-depth knowledge of sales operations and distribution networks.
