Job Overview
• The Quality Assurance Supervisor shall ensure that the activities/processes/procedures within the department are followed thoroughly for compliance.
Duties
• Maintain high standards of integrity, honesty and due diligence in performing all quality assurance tasks.
• Assist the Q.A Manager in running the affairs/activities of the department.
• Supervise the activities of Q.A Officers
• Plan and Schedule Q.A personnel to cover all shift and production lines as per production plan.
• Manage and control all document/record forms for easy referencing.
• Ensure all record forms/sheets are available for Q.A Officers and On-line Inspectors
• Ensure all record forms/sheets are completed/updated and made available for review by Q.A Manager
• Ensure all equipment/tools needed for Q.A activities are available, in good condition and within calibration
• Ensure all complaints and product returns from trade are handled appropriately.
• Update and trend all Quality Indices including blends, concentrate, alcohol, packaging lines and external quality evaluations.
• Manage and monitor non-conformities with respect to Quality Assurance Procedures by
• Ensuring that Non-conformities are correctly documented and make sure relevant persons are notified on occurrence of non-conformance
• Follow up on the responsiveness of process owners on non-conformities treatment.
• Follow up on the corrective and Prevention Actions;
• Make sure all Quality incidents are recorded
• Ensure investigations are conducted and root causes identified
• Ensure corrective / preventive actions (CAPA) are established and recorded
• Monitor the CAPA actions following Quality / Food Safety Management Systems (QFMS) procedures
• Promote continual improvement opportunities within the organization
• Use audit results to identify opportunities for improvement for all QFMS processes
• Monitor Opportunities for improvement
• Process all SAP request and follow up on request
• Drive good hygienic and sanitary conditions within the operational environment and surroundings of the company.
• Carry out other responsibilities to be assigned by the Quality Assurance Manager from time to time.
Qualifications
• Degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or Science Laboratory Technology
• Minimum of 5 years of related experience of which two years should be at a supervisory level
Skills & Attributes Required
• Knowledge of food safety & quality management systems (IS0 9001, ISO 2200, HACCP)
• Ability to analyze large amounts of data
• Effective communication and report writing skills.
• Excellent interpersonal skills; to work with and manage a team.
• Ability to work independently and with people from diverse backgrounds.
• Working knowledge of MS Office, Excel and Power Point
• Ability to work extra hours as may be required.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• The ability to understand, follow, and apply policies, practices, and operating procedures.
• A conscious SAFETY champion at all levels of operation.
