About Company

The Uganda Hotel Owners Association (UHOA) is a nonprofit trade and lobbying organization established in May 2000. It represents over 500 hotel, lodge, and camp owners across Uganda, encompassing a diverse membership from small guesthouses to international hotel chains. UHOA plays a pivotal role in promoting quality standards, advocating for favorable policies, and fostering growth within Uganda’s hospitality sector.

Mission and Objectives

UHOA’s mission is to provide superb standards of accommodation, facilities, and services to both domestic and international tourists. Its key objectives include:

  • Lobbying and advocacy on behalf of hotel owners

  • Capacity building for hotel staff

  • Information collection, analysis, and dissemination

  • Promoting and protecting the interests of hotel owners

  • Collaborating with donor agencies and the government

The association has been instrumental in securing government incentives such as VAT waivers and tax exemptions on imports and construction materials for its members.
