Overview
There Is Hope Malawi (TIH) is a faith-based non-governmental organization that works with refugees and their host communities in Malawi. Its mission is to unlock potential and restore dignity by providing access to education, vocational training, economic opportunities, and spiritual care.
The organization is based in Dowa District, near Malawi’s main refugee settlement — Dzaleka Refugee Camp — where most of its programs take place.
Background
There Is Hope was founded by Innocent Magambi, a former refugee from Burundi who spent 27 years in refugee camps across Africa. His personal experiences inspired him to establish TIH to address the challenges faced by both refugees and the local communities living alongside them.

Challenges
Resource Limitations: Funding is often insufficient to meet the high demand for scholarships, training slots, and business support.
Policy Barriers: Refugees in Malawi face legal restrictions, such as limited freedom of movement and employment opportunities.
Scaling Impact: Demand for education and livelihoods support far exceeds TIH’s current capacity.
