Right to Care Zambia

Overview & Background

Right to Care Zambia (RTCZ) is a fully registered non-profit organisation established in 2016. It is part of the broader Right to Care network and works closely with the Zambian Ministry of Health and other local partners. The organisation is led predominantly by a Zambian management team and focuses on strengthening the country’s health system, particularly in HIV prevention, care, and treatment.

The organisation’s work is guided by the global UNAIDS 95-95-95 targets, which aim for:

95% of people living with HIV to know their status

95% of those diagnosed to be on antiretroviral treatment (ART)

95% of those on ART to achieve viral suppression

RTCZ operates across several provinces, including Luapula, Muchinga, and Northern Zambia, often under large-scale projects supported by international donors.

Systems Strengthening Enhances monitoring and evaluation systems, trains healthcare workers, and improves supply chain management to prevent drug stockouts.
Early Childhood Development (ECD) Involved in initiatives that integrate child health and early development within health services.
Governance & Partnerships

RTCZ is funded by international donors, including large-scale HIV programmes such as PEPFAR and USAID. It undergoes regular financial and compliance audits and works in close partnership with the Zambian government, medical institutions, and research bodies.
