Matokeo ya Kidato cha Sita 2025: 99.95% Pass Rate Announced

The Tanzania Examinations Council (NECTA) has officially released the Matokeo ya Kidato cha Sita 2025, reporting a remarkable overall pass rate of 99.95 percent among 126,135 candidates who sat for the exams. This slight improvement of 0.03 percentage points from last year’s 99.92 percent pass rate reflects continued academic excellence. The announcement was made on July 7, 2025, at NECTA’s Zanzibar offices by the council’s Executive Secretary, Professor Said Mohamed.

Tanzania’s ACSEE Results 2025 reveal high success rates and strict penalties for exam cheating.

According to Professor Mohamed, 790 candidates—representing 0.62 percent—did not participate in the examinations. Of those who completed the tests, 125,779 students passed, maintaining the 99.95 percent success rate, while 68 candidates, or 0.05 percent, did not meet the passing criteria. The 2024 Form Six results recorded a similar trend, with 103,252 students passing at 99.92 percent.

The gender distribution of the ACSEE Results 2025 shows an equal pass rate of 99.95 percent for both females (61,953 candidates) and males (63,826 candidates). When it comes to grade divisions, 125,375 candidates (99.62 percent) attained passes within Divisions One to Three. Of these, 61,120 candidates (48.57 percent) achieved Division One, while 49,385 candidates (39.24 percent) secured Division Two, highlighting strong academic achievement across the board.

In a move to uphold exam integrity, NECTA has annulled the results of 71 candidates—70 from the ACSEE and one from the Grade A Teacher Certificate Examination (GATCE)—following breaches of examination regulations. The cancellations were made under Section 5(2)(i) and (j) of the Examination Council Act, Chapter 107, in conjunction with Regulation 30(2)(b) of the 2016 Examination Rules.

Professor Mohamed explained that some candidates involved in malpractice brought unauthorized devices such as mobile phones and smartwatches into exam rooms, collaborated during exams, and used pre-prepared answer sheets. He also noted suspiciously similar handwriting patterns and identical responses in some answer scripts, confirming deliberate cheating in violation of examination laws.

The public can access the full Matokeo ya Kidato cha Sita 2025 through NECTA’s official portal at https://matokeo.necta.go.tz/results/2025/acsee/index.htm. This year’s Form Six results 2025 reaffirm Tanzania’s strong secondary education performance, demonstrating a sustained high pass rate alongside firm measures to combat examination fraud and protect the credibility of the country’s education system.
