Stewart Copeland was born on July 16, 1952 — a birthdate that would become familiar to generations of rock and soundtrack fans.  Raised the youngest of four children, his early years were anything but ordinary. Among his notable credits: the soundtrack for the film Wall Street (1987), plus music for a variety of movies, TV series, and even games such as the classic Spyro the Dragon series. Over the years, this work revealed a different dimension: not just a rock drummer, but a composer fluent in many musical languages — from cinematic percussion to orchestral color, from jazz-infused grooves to ambient textures.

Personal Rhythms: Relationships, Family, and Life Off-Stage

Stewart’s personal life has been as eventful as his career. In the mid-1970s, while playing with Curved Air, he became involved with their vocalist, Sonja Kristina. The two married in 1982. The union produced two sons, and Stewart also adopted Sonja’s son from a previous relationship. The marriage ended in divorce in 1991. 

Afterward, Stewart had a son from a relationship with a woman identified as Marina, the daughter of noted heritage figures.  Then, in 1993, he married Fiona Dent — and together they have three children. The family has called Los Angeles home for many years.
