
Estates Officer – Land Surveyor at Makerere University e-HRMS
Job Description
Job Purpose
Survey University land and protect its boundaries
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Coordinate all aspects regarding land owned by the University;
- Handle all technical land operations on the University land;
- Update the land assets register;
- Participate in surveying and opening up boundaries of the University land;
- Follow up on illegal encroachment on land with the University Secretary’s legal department;
- Address land disputes as highlighted in the physical assessment and verification of Makerere University land;
- Provide land related documentation prior to development and investment projects;
- Retrieve/ replace titles for missing certificates of title;
- Report and budget for surveying related tasks;
- Perform any other related duties as assigned by the supervisor;
Required Qualifications
i. A Masters Degree in Land Surveying or or Geodesy or Geomatics or GIS (Geographic Information Systems);
ii. Honors Bachelor’s Degree of Land Surveying or Geomatics or Geodesy;
iii. Must be a Professional member of the Institution of Surveyors of Uganda;
iv. Must be a registered Land Surveyor with a valid practicing license from a Surveyors Registration Board of Uganda (SRB)
Experience
Three (3) years relevant working experience
Skills/Competences
1. Good communication, leadership and interpersonal skills;
2. Proficient in using relevant computer packages;
3. Team work and team building;
4. High integrity.
