
Communication and Outreach Interns (10) at Uganda Network of Businesses (UNB)
Job Description
As a 3rd Cohort Communication and Outreach Intern at UNB, you will be an integral part of the team, helping to amplify the organization’s voice and build relationships and partnerships with our diverse stakeholders. You will assist in crafting content, managing digital platforms, and supporting our outreach campaigns. This is an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience in communications, outreach, and digital marketing, all while contributing to meaningful work that supports Uganda’s business ecosystem.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:

- Develop engaging content for social media, blogs, newsletters, and other communication channels.
- Assist with drafting and distributing press releases, updates, and reports on UNB’s activities.
- Support digital marketing campaigns aimed at boosting engagement with key audiences.
- Track and analyze social media and website metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of outreach initiatives.
- Help manage and update UNB’s digital platforms (website, social media).
- Engage with businesses and stakeholders to encourage participation in UNB events and initiatives.
- Draft internal communication to ensure consistency and alignment across UNB teams.
- Assist with networking and partnership-building activities.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Communication, ICT, Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism, Marketing, Social Work, Community Development or a related field.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with a passion for storytelling and outreach.
- Familiarity with social media platforms and digital marketing tools; basic design skills (e.g., Canva, Adobe Suite) are an advantage.
- Self-driven and able to work independently, manage tasks, and meet deadlines.
- A genuine interest in business development and Uganda’s entrepreneurial ecosystem.
- Creative, proactive, and eager to learn new skills.
- Prior experience in communications or digital marketing is a plus but not required.
