About The Project

We Are Currently Constructing a State-Of-The-Art 100 Mw Solar Power Plant, A Landmark Development in Clean Energy Infrastructure. To Support This Mission, We Are Seeking an Experienced and Driven Electrical Engineer with A Strong Background in Utility-Scale Solar PV Systems to Join Our Dynamic Project Execution Team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead And Support the Design, Review, And Implementation of Electrical Systems for the Solar Power Plant.
  • Oversee The Installation, Testing, And Commissioning of Electrical Equipment Including:
  • Solar PV Arrays
  • Inverters And Transformers
  • Medium-Voltage (Mv) And High-Voltage (Hv) Switchgear
  • Scada And Protection Systems
  • Coordinate With EPC Contractors, Eoms, And Other Stakeholders to Ensure Compliance with Project Specifications, Safety Standards, And Grid Codes.
  • Conduct Load Flow Studies, Short Circuit Analysis, And Other System Simulations.
  • Assist In Grid Connection Activities, Including Liaising with The Utility for Approvals and Interconnection Agreements.
  • Ensure All Electrical Engineering Work Is Completed to International and Local Standards.
  • Prepare And Review Technical Documentation, Drawings, Specifications, And Reports.
  • Support QA/QC, HSE, And Project Management Teams During the Construction and Commissioning Phases.

·        Responsible For Project Management and Monitoring of Site Construction Activities as Per Project Execution Plan.

·        Monitor The Construction, Testing and Commissioning of The Ground Mounted Solar Power Plant Facility Including 330kv Transmission System.

·        Review Of Project Planning, Scheduling and Monthly Progress Reports.

·        Conduct Daily/Weekly/Monthly Meeting at Site with EPC Contractor/Execution Agencies to Monitor Site Execution Work, Progress & Submission of Site Progress Report to Ho, I.E. Overall Site Work Monitoring.

·        Co-Ordinate/Liaison with Government/Local Authorities as Per Requirement.

·        Responsible For Execution of Work as Per Quality Control Plan and Safety Plan.

·        Coordinate With Civil Engineers, Mechanical/ Electrical Engineers of Contractors to Ensure Project Is Delivered as Per Technical Specification and Compliance.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering (Master’s Preferred) or equivalent.
  • Minimum 5 Years of Experience in Electrical Engineering, With At Least 2 Years Focused on Utility-Scale Solar PV Projects (Preferably 100 Mw).
  • Proven Experience With:
  • Solar PV System Design and Performance Analysis Tools (E.G., Pvsyst, AutoCAD, ETAP, Or Similar)
  • Medium/High Voltage Systems (Up To 132 KV or More)
  • Grid Integration and Protection Coordination
  • Sound Understanding of Renewable Energy Standards and Electrical Codes.
  • Strong Project Coordination and Stakeholder Management Skills.

Preferred Skills

  • Professional Engineer (Pe) License or Equivalent Registration (Highly Advantageous)
  • Experience With Battery Energy Storage Systems (Bess) Integration
  • Familiarity With Remote Monitoring Systems and Data Analytics for Solar Plants
  • Ability To Thrive in a Fast-Paced, Multi-Disciplinary Project Environment.

·        Awareness And Understanding EPC And O&M Agreements (Solar Projects).

·        Awareness And Understanding of the Relevant Technical Codes, regulations and Standards Relating to the development of renewable Energy Projects, Prefer Experience In South Africa Countries.

·        Experience of the application and understanding of the guidelines and specifications Relevant to Electrical Engineering, Prefer Experience In South Africa Countries.

·        Requires An organised approach to working, task prioritisation and time Management.

·        Awareness And understanding of the relevant technical codes, regulations and standards Relating to the development of solar power projects.

·        Take ownership of meeting deadlines and drive tasks to completion

·        Strong initiative and the ability to proactively Identify Required Tasks.

·        Able To Work independently and in groups

·        Proficient In Microsoft Word, Power Point and Excel

  • Excellent verbal and written Communication Skills.
