The Malawi Epidemiology and Intervention Research Unit (MEIRU) operates in Karonga District and Lilongwe City. The research programme is conducted in partnership with the Kamuzu University of Health Sciences, the Malawi Ministry of Health, and international partners. MEIRU seeks to recruit for the following position:
Vacancy Ref: 2025-02-DGBI: Biostatistician with experience in genomics analysis and an interest in mental health
This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious biostatistician to work on a project, DepGenAfrica, that will advance our understanding of the genetics of depression in African countries and make a decisive contribution to improving diversity in psychiatric genomic studies. The successful candidate will work closely with an international team from Malawi, the UK, South Africa, Ethiopia, and Nigeria.
Minimum requirements
This is a full-time (35 hours per week) post and individuals would be based in Lilongwe or Karonga, with travel as necessary to the other site.
