CHADET Ethiopia is a non-profit national development organization registered in Ethiopia that works for the protection and welfare of children found under difficult circumstances. CHADET would like to hire a competent staff for coordinating and executing a project that is being designed to implement peace-building and livelihood activities in Artuma and DewaChefa Woreda in the Oromo Nationality zone of Amhara Region. The position and key tasks that are expected of the candidate are outlined as follows:

Job Title: Project Coordinator

Duty Station: Kemisie Town, Oromo Nationality Zone

Reports To: Program Manager

Position Summary:

The Project Coordinator will support the planning, implementation, and monitoring of peacebuilding and livelihood activities targeting at-risk migration groups in ArtumaFursi and DewaChefa Woreda. The role involves coordinating community-level activities, liaising with stakeholders, and ensuring the timely and effective delivery of project objectives under the guidance of the Program Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

1 Project Implementation Support

  • Coordinate the overall livelihood activities being designed in the target area
  • Conduct needs assessments to identify viable livelihood and business opportunities for at-risk migration groups.
  • Coordinate peacebuilding activities, including community dialogues, sports events, radio programs, and the development and distribution of Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) materials.
  • Promote peacebuilding initiatives and support conflict resolution among communities and relevant stakeholders.
  • Map available services and coordinate referrals to ensure access to appropriate support for target communities.
  • Support the mobilization and engagement of community members, especially youth and vulnerable groups, in project interventions.

2. Stakeholder Engagement & Coordination

  • Support liaison with local authorities, community leaders, and partner organizations.
  • oAssist in identifying and addressing community needs related to at-risk migration and livelihood challenges.

3. Monitoring, Reporting & Documentation

  • Collect data on project activities, outputs, and outcomes.
  • Assist in preparing regular activity reports for the Program Manager.
  • Document success stories, challenges, and lessons learned for sharing with relevant stakeholders.

4. Administrative Support

  • Support logistical arrangements for workshops, trainings, and community meetings.
  • Assist in maintaining records of project activities, participants, and expenditures.

About You

Qualifications & Experience:

  • ·Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Development Studies, Peace & Conflict Studies, or a related field.
  • 2–3 years of experience in project coordination, community development, or youth engagement programs
  • Familiarity with migration-related issues, peacebuilding, or livelihoods programs is an advantage.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

  • This position requires a motivated and innovative person with strong program management skills and an ability to work independently.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team and independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability and willingness to respect CHADET’s values and safeguarding policy in every aspect of his/her work.
  • Strong ability to communicate in written and spoken Afan Oromo and English
