Job Description

LifeCo Holdings Limited is inviting applications from suitably qualified and experienced individuals for the position of Finance Manager. This is a senior leadership position that reports directly to the Chief Executive Officer and is responsible for driving financial strategy, ensuring compliance, and promoting operational excellence across the organization.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The Finance Manager will head the Finance Department, ensuring sound financial management, regulatory adherence, and strategic financial planning.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting strategic planning and forecasting in line with company objectives.
  • Providing financial advice to executive management and the Board.
  • Supervising the day-to-day operations of the Finance Department.
  • Participating in key committee meetings and contributing to strategic decision-making.
  • Preparing and analyzing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for management and Board review.
  • Producing final audited financial statements in line with IFRS, regulatory requirements, and best industry practices.
  • Establishing and monitoring robust internal control systems.
  • Reviewing reconciliations, ledgers, audit schedules, and payment vouchers.
  • Ensuring full compliance with tax laws, regulatory directives, and governance standards.
  • Coordinating internal and external audits and resolving audit matters.
  • Managing tax planning, compliance, and returns filing.
  • Coaching and mentoring finance staff to support professional development.
  • Conducting performance appraisals and setting clear departmental objectives.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or Business Administration.
  • A professional qualification such as ACCA, CIMA, ICAM, CPA, or CMA.
  • At least 7 years of experience in financial management, with a minimum of 3 years in a senior role.
  • Member of professional accountancy institution and registered with the Malawi Accountants Board.
