About Premier Urgency International
Première Urgence Internationale (PUI) is a non-governmental, non-profit, non-political and non-religious international aid organization. Our teams are committed to supporting civilians’ victims of marginalization and exclusion, or hit by natural disasters, wars and economic collapses, by answering their fundamental needs. Our aim is to provide emergency relief to uprooted people in order to help them recover their dignity and regain self-sufficiency.
PUI works in 10 areas of intervention and distinguishes itself by the implementation of an integrated approach in its response. This method aims to identify and understand the needs of all those affected by a crisis. Our teams come together to bring a rapid global response to the basic needs of populations affected by humanitarian crises to help them regain independence and dignity.
PUI in Ethiopia:
Following the north Ethiopia conflict which erupted in 2020 and the reports of recurrent drought which is affecting the life and livelihood of millions in different regions of Ethiopia, PUI decided to contribute its part to address the humanitarian needs triggered by both manmade and natural disasters. PUI has been registered with FDRE Authority for Civil Society Organization (ACSO) since June 22, 2022, to enable the organization to operate legally in the country.
and has been providing humanitarian assistance in Afar and Benishangul Gumuz Regional States addressing the needs of population affected by both manmade and natural disasters. The organization has been exploring the potential gaps in terms of humanitarian assistance in the regions where it is currently intervening and other regions.
The current projects in Afar and Benishangul Gumuz regions are mainly focusing on creating better access to health and nutrition services for conflict and drought affected population. PUI is working in collaboration with local health authorities in providing support to revitalize the conflict affected health systems in those regions. In Metekel zone of BGRS, PUI is implementing humanitarian assistance in Debatie, Bullen, Dangur and Kurmuk woredas while in Afar, PUI is supporting nutrition services in Abala town, Abala rural woreda, Berhale, Wasama and Dallol woredas of Afar region in Kilbati Rasu zone.
Overall Objective:
The ICT Assistant will work under the supervision of the Logistic Coordinator. S/he will provide effective, efficient, and timely IT support to program implementation activities in compliance with PUI and donor processes, procedures, and regulations. The ICT Assistant will support all the departments in Ethiopia Mission with its IT activities, including IT equipment maintenance, storing, procurement and inventory and asset management.
TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
IT: S/He will assist the Logco in managing and following up on the sizing, proper use, and maintenance of all IT equipment and communications like Internet, and Satellite phones.
Security: S/He will assist LogCo and the base log managers/officers in information sharing about information technology security.
Reporting and Information Sharing: S/He will share the monthly reports with Logco on equipment and satellite phone use before deadline.
Assets and Equipment: S/He will assist Logistic officer in following and monitoring IT materials and controlling all IT assets, equipment in compliance with PUI and donor Guidelines.
SPECIFIC GOALS AND RELATED ACTIVITIES
INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY (IT) Needs:
Assess IT Needs and liaise with the Logco on specifications of IT Equipment.
Set up new hardware, including laptops, desktops, printers, etc. (upgrade OS, antivirus, updates, clean up hardware)
Train users at base level on basic IT issues (Office 365, backup, antivirus scan, use of e-mail/outlook...)
Train Logistics teams on intranet Management.
INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY (IT)
Ensure timely and regular maintenance and update of software and office network and hardware at mission level
Work with the HQ IT department in the installation of appropriate software as may be required.
Work with LogCo and base logs in the installation and maintenance of printers.
Work with Logco and base Logs in ensuring Storage Media are functional and appropriate for use in archiving, backups, defragmentation and cleaning and maintenance of IT computers on monthly basis
Work with HQ IT to ensure appropriate installation and updates of antivirus software in the Mission.
Work with Logco and base Logs and the Internet Service Provider to ensure Internet systems are well maintained and installed at base level.
Liaise with Logco and base Logs in the Installation and maintenance of main server and network systems; performs basic network administration and security functions ensuring system integrity and security.
Work with Logco and base Logs to assess IT needs at coordination and base level and advise on IT / phone fleet management while configure email accounts for all users.
S/He has basic information about firewall management.
MANAGEMENT OF EQUIPMENT
Work with the Country logistics Officer in the installation, monitoring, maintenance and security of IT related Materials.
Work with the Country logistics Officer in ensuring the smooth running of all equipment at base level.
Work with the Country logistics Officer to update and follow up the Base Equipment list, prepare and install the log tags on the equipment.
Work with the Country logistics Officer and Base logs to update Equipment List at the end of each month.
Maintain IT and other equipment at coordination and base level and ensure they are in good condition and find suitable solutions in case of failures or malfunctioning (antivirus, framework contracts for regular maintenances) and refer those needing major repair to Country ICT Officer.
Receive, check on specifications and quality of all IT equipment which includes but not limited to Mobile Phones, Printers and scanners, copy machines, Video cameras, LCD Projectors etc. at coordination and base levels.
Work with all logistics officers to manage all mobile telephony at coordination and base level, request for new phones and SIM cards when needed and follow up on Credit limits, update contact list in collaboration with HR and share on a monthly basis with the Logistics Officers.
Work with the Country logistics Officer to ensure the implementation of asset management procedures in the mission (identification cards, tagging…)
Work with the Country logistics Officer to Prepare and archive Staff Asset Forms for each equipment allocated to staff, archive, ensure signature and update of the database, ensure proper storage of redundant and inactive IT Equipment (Computers, Printers, Ups, HDD, voltage regulators)
Focus on 3 priority activities relating to the context of the mission
Ensure proper IT, energy, Assets, Equipment management at Mission level.

About You
Experience in IT Maintenance, IT Equipment Management.
Required knowledge & skills:
