Job Description

JOB PURPOSE

To provide lawful, efficient, and professional auctioneering and enforcement services on behalf of the Auctioneering Company, including the conduct of auctions, repossessions, debt collection, and execution of court orders, in compliance with the Auctioneers Act, Kenya Court directives, and client instructions.

KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Auctioneering Operations

  • Conduct public auctions of movable and immovable property.
  • Manage specialized auctions including art, livestock, fundraising, and events.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory notice requirements, advertising, and auction procedures.

Court Order Execution

  • Execute warrants of attachment, warrants of sale, eviction orders, and other court-issued directives.
  • Liaise with courts and enforcement officers to ensure lawful execution.
  • Maintain accurate records of execution and prepare reports for filing.

Repossession & Debt Recovery

  • Repossess movable assets, motor vehicles, and other securities in accordance with contracts and the law.
  • Facilitate realization of charged securities for banks and financial institutions.
  • Undertake debt recovery assignments and negotiate settlements where appropriate.

Process Serving & Investigations

  • Serve summons, pleadings, and court documents across Kenya.
  • Swear affidavits of service and file them in court.
  • Conduct private investigations and asset tracing within Kenya and East Africa.

Client & Compliance Management

  • Maintain strict confidentiality and professionalism in handling client matters.
  • Ensure compliance with the Auctioneers Licensing Board, High Court of Kenya regulations, and relevant laws.
  • Provide regular progress reports and documentation to clients and company management.

Qualifications & Experience

  • At least 2 years proven experience in auctioneering, repossession, debt recovery, or related fields.
  • Knowledge of Auctioneering law, tenancy law, banking and finance law, and debt recovery procedures.
  • Having a Valid Auctioneer’s License issued by the Kenya Auctioneers Licensing Board is an added advantage
  • Knowledge on how to execute court orders will be an added advantage.

Skills & Attributes

  • Strong knowledge of court and enforcement procedures.
  • Excellent negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
  • High level of integrity, ethics, and accountability.
  • Ability to handle high-pressure assignments firmly but lawfully.
  • Good communication, organizational, and reporting skills.
