Your Impact

  • Develop and oversee mine plans from two (2) years to one (1) day to ensure alignment with longer term plans, production goals and regulatory requirements.

As Part Of Our Team You Will

Develop and oversee <2 year mine plan (BP and QF) to ensure alignment with 5YP, production goals and regulatory requirements.

  • Develop and oversee Monthly/Weekly/Daily mine plan to ensure alignment with BP, production goals and regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and oversee reconciliation reporting of performance to plan at daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual time horizons to ensure alignment with Newmont’s strategic goals.

Continuously improve mining activities in the <2 year time horizon through mine design revisions, updated block models, financial and operating input reviews, and fleet assessments.

  • Deliver support, direction, and influence on mine operations to enhance operational effectiveness through continuous improvement projects while ensuring adherence to safety standards and mining regulations.
  • Lead the Mine Planning team including the co-ordination of the training and development and proactively drive Fatality Risk Management (FRM) to identify relevant risks, implement mitigation measures, and continuously monitor for risks.
  • Plan scope-of-work documentation, budgets, and manage mine planning consultants and any assigned contracts.
  • Work with consultants and contractors to ensure compliance with project specifications, safety standards, and contractual obligations, while maintaining alignment with organizational goals.

Formal Qualification (including Professional Registrations)

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering.

Experience

  • Minimum 12 years of experience in underground mining.
  • In-depth experience in Mine Planning and Design, Mine Scheduling and Mine Operations at large mining sites.
  • Minimum of 5 years supervising multi-disciplinary teams
  • Preferred a minimum of 2 years’ experience in underground mining operational time such as blasting, drilling, haulage and service crew works.

Technical Skills

  • Advance proficiency in Mine planning, Cost modeling, and Operational optimization.
  • Identify practical application proficiency in mine planning and optimization that best supports these activities within your organization.
  • Ability to carry out specific activities using appropriate tools and processes to achieve defined business outcomes.
  • Advanced proficiency with mine design, drill and blast, mine scheduling and performance to plan reconciliation.
  • Competent in mine operations, mine dispatch, risk management and business improvement principles and practices.
  • Competent proficiency with project and/or contract management.
