Twogere is a youth-led nonprofit organization based in Uganda, dedicated to transforming mental health care for young people by breaking down barriers to access and support. Founded in 2012 and headquartered in Kampala, Twogere focuses on creating inclusive, community-driven mental health solutions that are co-designed with young people who have lived experience of mental health challenges .
Mission and Approach
Twogere’s mission is to make mental health care more accessible, inclusive, and effective for young people across Uganda. Their approach is built on three core pillars:Storytelling for Change: Creating safe spaces for young people to share their mental health experiences, helping to break stigma and encourage others to seek support.

Key Programs and Innovations

Since its inception, Twogere has made significant strides in improving mental health care for young people in Uganda:

Partnerships and Recognition
Twogere collaborates with various partners, including the Ministry of Health, Ministry of Education, Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA), and international organizations like the ISSROFF Family Foundation. Their work has been recognized for its innovative approach to grassroots mental health advocacy .
