Twogere is a youth-led nonprofit organization based in Uganda, dedicated to transforming mental health care for young people by breaking down barriers to access and support. Founded in 2012 and headquartered in Kampala, Twogere focuses on creating inclusive, community-driven mental health solutions that are co-designed with young people who have lived experience of mental health challenges .

Mission and Approach

Twogere’s mission is to make mental health care more accessible, inclusive, and effective for young people across Uganda. Key Programs and Innovations

Since its inception, Twogere has made significant strides in improving mental health care for young people in Uganda:

  • Reached over 100,000 young people with mental health awareness programs in schools and communities.

  • Provided support to more than 10,000 young people dealing with mental health conditions.

  • Trained over 500 teachers to support the mental health needs of students .

Partnerships and Recognition

Twogere collaborates with various partners, including the Ministry of Health, Ministry of Education, Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA), and international organizations like the ISSROFF Family Foundation.
