Tugende

Tugende is a for-profit social enterprise founded in 2012 in Uganda, dedicated to bridging the credit gap for small businesses by enabling informal entrepreneurs to own income-generating assets. Through asset financing, technology, and a customer-centric approach, Tugende supports micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in building digital credit profiles and accessing growth opportunities. The company has expanded its operations beyond Uganda, establishing a presence in Kenya, and has financed over 52,000 clients across various sectors.
