Sibo Uganda is a technology-driven e-commerce startup based in Mbarara, Uganda. Its name stands for Simple & Instant Buying Online (SIBO). The company has developed a mobile app designed to enhance market access, streamline logistics, and promote health-conscious commerce in Western Uganda.

🚀 About the SIBO App

The SIBO app functions as a digital marketplace, enabling users to purchase a variety of products—including groceries, electronics, food, and pharmaceuticals—directly from local vendors. It addresses logistical challenges by coordinating deliveries through a network of boda boda riders, ensuring timely and efficient service.

A notable feature of the app is its anonymous ordering option for sensitive health items such as condoms, sanitary pads, and post-exposure prophylaxis (PEP). This feature aims to reduce stigma and encourage better access to reproductive health products, particularly among the youth in Mbarara.

Since its launch, the app has seen promising engagement, with 173 downloads and 29 orders within the first four days.

Sibo Uganda is more than just a commercial platform; it is also a social enterprise. The app supports local businesses by providing them with digital storefronts, thereby expanding their market reach. Additionally, it offers discreet access to essential health products, contributing to HIV prevention and improved reproductive health.

Mbarara, often referred to as the “Land of Milk & Honey,” is Uganda’s second-largest city and a significant economic hub. The city’s diverse population, including a substantial refugee community, benefits from the inclusive services provided by Sibo Uganda.
