Furaha Finserve Uganda Limited is a financial technology (fintech) company established in 2023, operating as a software-based intermediary platform. It does not directly provide loans or credit but facilitates access to financing through partnerships with licensed financial institutions

Furaha’s mission is to unlock financial opportunities for the “missing middle”—individuals who are underserved by traditional financial systems—by leveraging community and technology. The company aims to become Africa’s leading purpose-driven financing platform, aligning financial solutions with meaningful societal outcomes

Products and Services

Furaha focuses on providing accessible financial solutions, particularly in the education sector. Through its digital platform, it offers school fee loans that are disbursed directly to educational institutions, allowing parents to spread repayments over a term. Loan amounts range from UGX 200,000 to UGX 2,000,000, with a 3% processing fee and a 5% monthly interest rate over a 90-day period .

To enhance its service delivery, Furaha collaborates with various partners:

• Opportunity Bank Uganda Ltd: Facilitates loan disbursements.

• MTN MoMo: Enables mobile money transactions.

• SchoolPay: Manages school fee payments.

• Yabx Technologies: Provides AI-driven credit scoring and digital lending infrastructure

In January 2025, Furaha secured a $10 million investment from SC Ventures (Standard Chartered’s innovation arm) and Yabx Technologies to expand its education financing initiatives across Africa .
