Key Initiatives and Partnerships in Uganda
ADD International’s work in Uganda focuses on empowering disability rights activists and organizations. They have supported groups like the Masaka Association of Persons with Disabilities Living with HIV&AIDS (MADIPHA), which has grown from a small group to supporting over 500 individuals. ADD International provided initial support to MADIPHA, helping them establish their office and expand their reach.
Through participatory grant-making, ADD International ensures that funding decisions are made by those with lived experiences of disability, promoting more effective and relevant initiatives. They also focus on nurturing leadership among women and youth with disabilities, aiming to build a new generation of disability justice leaders.
