Action in Africa (AIA)

Action in Africa (AIA) is a U.S.-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit and a community-led organization in Uganda, whose mission is to educate, inspire, and empower the people of Uganda through a variety of programs that focus on education, nutrition, mentorship, women’s empowerment, and community development.

Key Programs & Activities

1. Community Center (Nakuwadde, Wakiso District)

• AIA’s hub in Uganda, serving hundreds of children, youth, and adults daily.

• Offers educational workshops, creative spaces, mentorship, and community support initiatives.

2. Porridge Program

• Tackles food insecurity by providing nutritious porridge to schoolchildren.

• Aims to increase attendance and concentration in schools.

3. Scholarships & Mentorships

• Provides merit-based scholarships from primary school through university.

• Pairs students with mentors to support academic and personal growth.

4. Primary Partnership Program

• Collaborates with four local primary schools.

• Supports infrastructure, resources, and teacher development.

5. Women to Women Program

• Offers women’s empowerment activities, including business training, health education, and leadership opportunities.

6. Special Needs Program

• Inclusive education and support services for children with disabilities.

7. Community Development Workshops

• Hosts events and skill-building workshops for both children and adults.

• Focuses on empowerment through knowledge, creativity, and social cohesion.

  Administrative and fundraising office that supports AIA’s initiatives in Uganda.
