Rolling out and expanding 4G/5G network infrastructure, including Ericsson Radio System and Cloud RAN.
Providing cloud software (Core, OSS/BSS, automation), private wireless, enterprise wireless (Private 5G/WAN), and network management.

Mobile Money & Financial Literacy Initiative
In March–April 2024 and July 2024, Ericsson and MTN Uganda ran a three-week training for women entrepreneurs in Kampala markets (e.g. Kalerwe), teaching them mobile-money tools via Ericsson’s Mobile Financial Services powering MTN's MoMo platform.
Aimed to promote gender and financial inclusion.
The program included savings, cash‑flow, credit training, practical MoMo use, and a competition rewarding top local MoMo users.
Supplier Innovation Award
In August 2024, Ericsson (with GD Experts Ltd) received MTN Uganda’s Supplier Innovation Award for enhancing MTN’s network infrastructure and service delivery.
Mobile Wallet Platform
Ericsson implemented its Converged Wallet platform to support MTN Uganda's ~7 million MoMo users, ensuring compliance with local regulation and service reliability.
Ericsson leads the “Africa in Motion” initiative, with over 2,300 staff across Africa helping deploy 2G–5G networks and supporting ~80 million mobile-money users continent-wide.
In Uganda, these efforts support broader digital transformation—enabling faster connectivity, IoT services, fintech, and smart services.
Ericsson Kampala runs various roles—from ICT program directors, Scrum Masters, and SME Operations Assurance to engineering and field service positions.
Many jobs focus on telecom: deployment, charging systems, operations assurance, and cloud/mobile wallet services.
Connectivity: Accelerated roll-out of 4G/5G underpins digital inclusion, smart-city, fintech, e-learning, IoT, and more.
Economic & Social Impact: Their financial literacy programs help women grow businesses, driving local economic empowerment.
Innovation & Efficiency: National mobile-money backbone and private 5G build capabilities, and winning MTN’s innovation award highlights Ericsson's region-stage technological edge.
