Integrated Seed Sector Development

The Integrated Seed Sector Development (ISSD) initiative is a collaborative effort aimed at strengthening seed systems across Africa. It promotes a pluralistic, market-oriented approach that integrates both formal and informal seed systems to enhance farmers' access to quality seeds.

ISSD Africa

ISSD Africa serves as an international community of practice, supporting seed sector transformation and innovation across the continent. It focuses on addressing complex seed sector challenges of continental importance, aiming to improve access to quality seeds of preferred varieties for smallholder farmers. The initiative is supported by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation and the Government of the Netherlands.

ISSD Uganda

ISSD Uganda is an independent, locally registered organization that builds upon the outcomes of previous seed projects. It focuses on seed sector transformation, capacity building, knowledge transfer, and supporting fragile communities, including refugees.
