Historical Background




  • Founded: 1981





    • Initially operated as a First Aid Centre within the office of the Bishop.




    • Later developed into a fully functional hospital with multiple departments and health outreach units.

  • 1982: General Medical Services introduced




  • 1984: Eye Centre established




  • 1995: Organized Useful Rehabilitation Services (OURS) launched




  • 1996: St. John's Health Centre (Katojo – Biharwe) opened




  • 1998: Ibanda Mission Health Centre added




  • 2005: St. Luke Kisyoro established




  • Others: Facilities at Mugarutsya and Kanywamaizi developed
