  • Geographical Location: Mukono District is bordered by Kayunga District to the north, Buikwe District to the east, Kalangala District to the south-west, Kira Town and Wakiso District to the west, and Luweero District to the north-west. The town of Mukono serves as the district headquarters and is approximately 21 km east of Kampala, Uganda's capital.




  • Population: As per the 2014 census, the district had a population of 596,804 residents.




  • Economic Activities: The district's economy is primarily based on agriculture, with significant contributions from trade and services due to its proximity to Kampala.
