UN Women is the United Nations entity dedicated to gender equality and the empowerment of women. It serves as a global champion for women and girls, working to establish and uphold international standards, and create conditions in which every woman and girl can fully realize her human rights and potential.
Founded by UN General Assembly Resolution 64/289, it merges and builds on the work of four previously separate parts of the UN system.
