Jibu Uganda is part of the larger Jibu Inc. network, which operates across several African countries, including Rwanda, Kenya, Tanzania, Ghana, Zambia, Burundi, and the Democratic Republic of Congo.
Jibu's franchise system is designed to support entrepreneurs with the necessary capital, equipment, and training to launch and grow their businesses. Franchise owners typically invest between $5,000 and $10,000 to start a single unit, while Area Master Franchisors (AMFs) invest between $250,000 and $350,000 to develop and manage multiple franchises within a territory.
Each franchise purifies local water sources using advanced filtration systems and distributes the clean water within walking distance of their storefronts. In addition to water, franchises offer other essential products like LPG and fortified porridge.
As of January 2023, Jibu Uganda had launched its 38th franchise in Mukono, expanding its reach to more communities in need of clean water and essential products. The company's efforts have been supported by initiatives like the Franchise Impact Solutions Facility (FISF), which, between October 2021 and June 2024, helped Jibu franchises sell over 243 million liters of clean water, reaching approximately 3.3 million customers across East Africa.
Beyond its commercial activities, Jibu Uganda actively participates in community development. The company has been involved in events like World Autism Awareness Day, providing free clean drinking water and promoting inclusion and community care. L
