Straight Talk Foundation (STF) is a prominent Ugandan non-governmental organization specializing in communication for development. Established in 1993 and officially registered in 1997, STF has been at the forefront of promoting adolescent sexual and reproductive health (SRH) across Uganda.
Mission: To improve the sexual and reproductive health and well-being of young people through advocacy, evidence-driven communication initiatives, and the provision of youth-friendly services.
Vision: A world where young people have access to sexual and reproductive health services and rights, leading healthy and productive lives.
STF employs a multi-modal approach to reach its target audience, utilizing:

SRHR4ALL Project: A five-year initiative supported by SONKE Gender Justice, focusing on sexual and reproductive health and rights strategies.
Bidi Bidi Community Radio: In partnership with UNHCR, REF FM, and DW Akademie, STF manages Bidibidi FM, a community radio station serving the Bidibidi Refugee Settlement.
ADRA TOGETHER Project: A collaborative effort with Mildmay Uganda, aiming to unite towards gender equality for the enjoyment of women's and girls' total health and rights.
Over the years, STF has achieved significant milestones:
Supported 115 health facilities to provide quality SRHR information and services.
Reached over 11 million young people through multimedia campaigns on sexual reproductive health.
Engaged 12 million individuals on social media platforms.
Produced and distributed over 7.7 million Young Talk newsletters.
STF has expanded its focus to include educational support through bursary programs targeting bright but disadvantaged young people in hard-to-reach communities. Notably, the Embassy of Ireland's Karamoja Bursary Programme has partnered with STF to support over 1,400 students in 2024.
